Business leaders tour Keene State’s Sustainable Product Design and Innovation laboratory with Professor Lisa Hix.

Keene State hosted a statewide conversation on May 15 on building a workforce in the life sciences by bringing together education and industry. Keene State has an important role in New Hampshire’s biotechnology workforce by preparing graduates in the field. During this event, business leaders from across New Hampshire shared examples of workforce development efforts that are underway, and the partnerships that can be leveraged through various federal and state programs, and industry alliances.

Keene State students conduct research through the New Hampshire-Idea Network for Biomedical Research Excellence (NH-INBRE), which is a statewide program funded by the National Institutes of Health. The program helps network institutions around the country to develop biomedical research training programs.
