Realizing that many local choral programs don’t get adequate support from their communities, the Keene State student chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) created the Scores Project. The project helps provide financial support for a local choral program by uniting the surrounding community to raise money for their school to purchase choral scores. The Scores Project’s approach is “one dollar from 250 people, not $250 from one person.” The project hopes to bond communities together to help them support their own programs.

Once they’ve raised the money, the Scores Project leadership decides on a school to collaborate with. For the 2014–2015 academic year, the recipient was Jaffrey-Rindge Middle School, because JRMS choral director Lisa Goodwin has done such a remarkable job and created a very mature choir.
