In Keene State Today’s “Class Notes” section a few years ago, several members of the Class of ’65 mentioned Social Studies Professor Charles Hapgood, who taught here from 1956–1966, as among their favorite teachers. Hapgood and his 1958 book, The Earth’s Shifting Crust, with his theories that the earth’s pole has shifted several times throughout geologic history with catastrophic results, is something of a legend at KSC. We’d like to hear from those of you who took his classes, or otherwise remember him from his time on campus.

If you have a good Charles Hapgood story, please send an email to Newsline. Put “Charles Hapgood” in the subject line and include your name and class year in the message.
