Chef, food writer, cooking instructor, and co-owner (with his wife Katie) of the personal chef and catering company The Skinny Beet, Richard Chudy ’04 has co-authored a unique cookbook that will be out in mid May. American Burger Revival: Brazen Recipes to Electrify a Timeless Classic is your guide to creating a truly awesome burger. Or several.

His expertise stems in part from his Boston Burger Blog, which chronicles his ongoing quest to find the best burger in Boston and beyond. He also co-hosts the podcast The Skinny Beet Dinner Party, and his work has been featured in Boston Magazine, Food Republic, The Boston Globe, and NPR. After he graduated from Keene State with a degree in Management, he attended the Cambridge School of Culinary Arts.

Besides the cooking skills he’s learned, he says his Management classes were critical to his success: “They definitely helped; my wife and I are personal chefs and caterers, and having that business background is huge for running our business. I went to culinary school after Keene State, but that BS degree is something I literally use every day, and I definitely valued my time in Keene.”
