Keene State and Plymouth State University Address Needs of Educators

Keene State College and Plymouth State University Enter Into Agreement Enhancing Freedom of Choice and Access Among USNH Schools

Program in Place to Develop Statewide Career Continuum for Educators

Keene State College’s School of Professional and Graduate Studies and Plymouth State University’s (PSU) College of Graduate Studies have entered into an agreement that is based on the spirit of providing New Hampshire students with enhanced freedom of choice and access among the University System of New Hampshire institutions. The agreement, which went into effect in January 2013, allows up to 15 post-master’s graduate credits in the field of education to be transferred between the schools. The arrangement is built on the intent to develop a statewide career continuum for advanced educators.

“This agreement is an important first step toward linking our schools to effectively address the needs of educators who seek to earn a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies,” said Keene State College Associate Dean of Professional and Graduate Studies, Stephen Bigaj. “We are thrilled to work more closely with Plymouth State University, and we look forward to expanding our partnership.”

The new transfer opportunity between the schools appeals greatly to current teachers who seek to earn a certificate from PSU, as Keene State College doe not currently offer a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies, but does provide coursework at the master’s and post-master’s levels.
