Keene State's Lucey "A Face In The Crowd"

KEENE, N.H. 10/17/06 - Keene State College’s Breanne Lucey is featured in this week’s “Faces in the Crowd” section of Sports Illustrated.

A senior from Keene, Lucey is doing double-duty for the Owls this fall competing in both women’s soccer and cross country.

Earlier this season, Lucey raced to a win at the KSC Cross Country Invitational and later in the day netted a goal in the Owls’ 3-2 soccer win over Plymouth State.

Lucey has been the Owls top runner in every race she has competed. At the New England championships on Oct. 7, she finished 7th among 314 runners, racing over the 5K course in a personal-best time of 17:36. After a strong performance at the New Englands, the Owls zoomed to 14th nationally in Division III, the highest ranking ever for the program.

Lucey joins Owl runner Mary Proulx and men’s soccer coach Ron Butcher who have also been featured in SI’s “Faces in the Crowd.”
