Redfern Arts Center Presents Mango Blue
KEENE, N.H., 3/8/2011 - Keene State College’s Redfern Arts Center ends its 2010/11 season with the celebrated salsa band Mango Blue, performing on Wednesday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Main Theatre.
Ticket prices range from $18 to $6 for the general public, or $5 for Keene State students.
In addition, Mango Blue will host a free demonstration and salsa party at 2:00 p.m. in the Main Theatre prior to the performance, and will conduct an evening Q&A; session with audience members immediately after the show.
Audiences are invited to come early and meet the musicians of Mango Blue before the show. These Meet-and-Greets with the artists are hosted by the Redfern and its staff. They begin at 6:30 p.m.; light refreshments will be served.
The dynamic musical flavor of Mango Blue encompasses a range of styles, from traditional African drumming to fiery South American melodies to Caribbean jazz and more. Transcending boundaries of genre and geography, Mango Blue offers a unique musical experience that is both socially conscious and totally danceable.
