KSC Opens Fall Registration for Cheshire Academy for Lifelong Learning

KEENE, NH, September 7, 2011: Keene State College’s (KSC) Continuing Education and Extended Studies Division announced today that registration is open for the fall Cheshire Academy for Lifelong Learning (CALL) program. CALL is an educational program for adults age 55 years and older in the Monadnock region.

CALL is Keene State’s institute for learning in retirement and runs twice a year, in the fall and spring. Taught by CALL members, KSC faculty, and other local experts, courses are noncredit and nongraded. CALL participants take an active role in planning courses. You can take up to four classes each semester.

Students choose from classes on a range of topics, ranging from American art, baseball, cancer cell biology, China’s relationship with the U.S., the Civil War of a New Hampshire private, corporate power and influence in the American economy, drawing for beginners, to the history of Turkey and understanding and appreciating wine.

Classes are 80 minutes long and run on Fridays, from September 16 to November 4, 2011. Semester registration is $65. An additional $40 mandatory annual membership fee provides CALL members with a picture ID card giving them access to the College library, discounts on Arts Center events, discounts on KSC merchandise at the campus bookstore, open swim time in the College pool, the ability to purchase aerobics and walking track gym memberships, all-you-can- eat lunches for $6.50 in the Dining Commons on Fridays, early notification of CALL classes and other campus events, and e-mail newsletters.

Registration is open until the first day of class, but early registration is recommended as classes fill quickly. Information and electronic registration is available at www.keene.edu/conted/programs/call.
