Great News for Great Writers!

Promising student writers, and professors with such writers in their classes, take note: The judges are now accepting applications for the Fred Fosher Excellence in Writing Award.

This annual award recognizes the critical role that writing plays across the curriculum and the inspired work of a student in any discipline who rises to the intellectual challenge of writing clear and purposeful expository prose. The award honors the work of Professor Emeritus Fred Fosher, who taught English at Keene State College from 1967 until 1992. The recipient will receive an award of $1,000 and be personally recognized at the Spring Honors Convocation.

Applicants may apply or be nominated by a faculty member and must be full-time matriculated students with junior or senior status.

Materials are due Friday, February 25, 2011, in 206 Parker Hall. For an application and portfolio guidelines, or for more information, please contact Dr. Mark C. Long at 358-2695 or mlong@keene.edu.
