KEENE, N.H., 11/11/09 - Affordable online offerings offered through Keene State College’s Continuing Education and Extended Studies make it easy for you to brush up on skills to help you advance in your career, learn a new skill or trade, or pursue a new professional or personal interest. Noncredit classes, certificate programs, and a CD- and Internet-based program specifically for teachers are among your online choices.
All ed2go courses are taught completely online, are noncredit, run six weeks, feature two lessons per week, and have a two-week grace period at the end. Various electronic technologies, including e-mail, bulletin boards, discussion groups, and web-based resources and activities, means convenient anytime, anywhere learning. Creating Web Pages, Accounting Fundamentals, Speed Spanish, and Medical Terminology: A Word Association Approach rank among the most popular online courses in 30 different categories.

With Continuing Education’s online career training certificate programs, you pursue career training at your own pace - again, at your convenience. Instructors are actively involved in your learning experience, teaching courses designed by a team of professionals. Certificates in Administrative Medical Specialist with Billing and Coding, Grant Writing, Entrepreneurship: Start Up and Business Owner Management, Search Engine Marketing, Web Database Developer, and HVAC technician are among more than 200 programs in eight categories.

Keene State’s Distance Learning Program for Educators features fully accredited classes combining CD- and Internet-based learning. You begin when you want. Classes include six offerings, with managing disruptive behavior, coping with aggressive behavior in classrooms, school violence, and harassment, bullying, and cyber-intimidation in schools among them.

Continuing Education students of all ages find classes for personal enrichment and job enhancement, to prepare for a career change, or to begin taking courses toward a degree program. Many who begin taking courses through the Continuing Education Office later apply for admission, ultimately earning a college degree. Others take courses based on economic or workplace requirements.
KSC grants enrollment in courses to all students who hold a high school diploma or equivalent (or bachelor’s degree in the case of graduate-level courses) and who have demonstrated successful academic performance.
In addition to coordinating educational opportunities on campus, the Continuing Education Office works with regional businesses and industry, private and public agencies, and school districts to provide learning opportunities specific to workforce needs.
