Registration Opens for January Courses at Region I OSHA Education Center

KEENE, N.H., 12/14/06 - Region I (New England) OSHA Training Institute Education Center in Manchester, New Hampshire, is accepting registrations for two January courses. The institute is authorized by the U.S. Department of Labor Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Keene State College’s Office of Continuing Education.

Trainer Course in Occupational Safety and Health Standards for the Construction Industry (500) qualifies participants to become trainers in the Outreach Program, conduct both 10- and 30-hour construction safety and health courses, and issue cards to students to verify course completion. Prerequisites are course 510 or the equivalent and five years of construction safety experience. Your résumé and a copy of your course 510 card are required at registration. Running Jan. 22-25, the course is taught in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

Covering aspects of a respirator program, Respiratory Protection (2225) focuses on terminology, OSHA standards, NIOSH certification, and medical evaluation recommendations. Laboratories on respirator selection, qualitative- fit testing, and hands-on training are part of the course. The Jan. 8-10 course runs in Keene, New Hampshire.

Tuition for OSHA courses is per person: course 500 is $775; 225, $615. Group discounts for five or more students to attend one course are available, as is on-site training for groups of at least 10 or more participants.
