LaValley Named Director Of KSC Alumni and Parent Relations
KEENE, N.H. 8/15/06 - Jeffrey J. LaValley has been named director of alumni and parent relations at Keene State College. He replaces Mike Maher, who retired in July after 13 years at KSC.
LaValley most recently served as a major gifts officer at the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force in Los Angeles, Calif. Prior to that he was associate director of development for annual funds at the University of Southern California Gould School of Law and assistant director of annual giving at Pomona College. He received a bachelor of arts degree in journalism/public affairs (1988) and a master of education degree in curriculum and instruction (1999) from Keene State College.
“Jeff’s experience includes working with the annual fund, volunteers, and boards of directors at Pomona College and USC’s Law School, as well as having been a member of KSC’s own Alumni Board in the late 90s,” said Melinda Mosier, interim director of advancement at the College. “He brings excitement, energy, and vision to KSC’s alumni office.”
As director, LaValley will manage the alumni and parent relations programs, including planning for reunions, homecoming and parent/family weekend events. He will also help coordinate area meetings of the alumni and parents associations.
“I am excited to serve as Keene State’s next director of alumni and parent relations and to reacquaint myself with the campus community, as well as with alumni and parents across the country,” LaValley said. “Additionally, I welcome the opportunity to work with the alumni and parent boards, embarking on strategic planning to identify new opportunities for serving our constituents.”
