Take a Kid to the Game Day Comes to Keene State

KEENE, N.H. 01/11/06 - The Keene State College women’s and men’s basketball teams will host their annual NCAA Take a Kid to the Game (TAKG) program this Saturday at Spaulding Gymnasium. Kids, ages 16 and younger, will receive a free ticket with the purchase of a full-priced adult ticket ($4), to watch the Owls take on the Huskies of Southern Maine. The women’s game begins at 1 p.m., while the men tip-off at 3 p.m.

Among the activities at this year’s special game, include, free giveaways for children age seven and younger, halftime contests, and prizes.

Keene State is hosting one of more than 700 games that will be played across the nation this season as part of the Take a Kid to the Game program. The program is a grass roots initiative that attracts the nation’s youth and encourages adults to take kids to area college basketball games.

“We are thrilled to be a part of the TAKG program,” said John Ratliff, athletic director at KSC. “We hope that all youth in our community will come out to experience the one-of-a-kind atmosphere that is Keene State basketball.”

Tickets for the game can be purchased at the KSC ticket office the day of the game.
