Keene State Website Recognized by National Admissions Group

KEENE, N.H. 10/3/05 - The Keene State College website designed to attract new students has received recognition as the best of its kind in New England.

In its seventh annual analysis of more than 3,000 post-secondary U.S. institutions, the National Research Center for College and University Admissions (NRCCUA) rated the functionality and design of higher-ed websites toward the goal of recruiting good new students. In their rankings, Keene State placed ninth in the North, behind institutions in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. Westminster Choir College of Rider, N.J., placed first on the regional list.

Topping the list of the most effective admissions websites nationally was Transylvania University in Kentucky.

“It’s an exciting fact of life that prospective college students are increasingly using the Internet to learn about the best opportunities for them,” said KSC President Helen Giles-Gee. “We know that a dynamic, attractive website, with real substance, is vital in appealing to the academically motivated students that Keene State wants to continue attracting. We are pleased by this external recognition about the quality of our website.”

“We congratulate Keene State for having one of the top admissions-related websites,” said Don Munce, president of NRCCUA. “Prospective college students are Internet-savvy, and they have come to expect the admissions sections of university websites to provide critical information to help them make decisions. As Keene State College has recognized, a quality website can now be the difference between a lost prospect and a new student.”

The website was developed by KSC’s College Relations Office in collaboration with Keene State Admissions.
