Online Courses Abound at Keene State College

KEENE, N.H. 8/19/02 Keene State College offers numerous online courses this fall through its Continuing Education Office.

Online courses are available for many interests and are geared to all levels of computer users, from beginners to computing professionals. Online courses can be taken any time of the day or night during a six-week period, with sessions starting Sept. 18, Oct. 16, Nov. 20, and Dec. 18. Most of these noncredit courses range in cost from $79 to $159.

Students can learn how to navigate the Internet, create a web page, and master the art of web programming in the online course Introduction to the Internet and more advanced online web design courses on Dreamweaver and Microsoft Front Page. Other online computer courses help students understand popular software such as Microsoft Works and design programs such as PhotoShop.

There are also online personal enrichment courses, designed to help students prepare for college entrance exams such as the SAT and ACT. Other online courses teach students how to manage personal finances, write technical publications, and give speeches.

Through online small-business courses, students can discover how to plan, start, finance, and market their own small to mid-sized business.

Online business management courses help people improve their job skills by mastering the fundamentals of supervision, communication, motivation, conflict resolution, and inventory and project management.
