Electricity, Renewables, and Climate Change

Putnam Science Center - Room 126
Friday, · -

In this FREE six-hour workshop, teachers will get their hands on a variety of resources to help make learning about electricity, the environment, and climate change fun and engaging for students in grades 6-12.

This training will also support teachers' understanding of the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS) and how to make students' thinking visible. We will discuss formative assessment strategies, phenomena, and storylines, and, most importantly, provide training on how to use all the VEEP gear that teachers can borrow to support energy and climate education. Participants will receive six credit hours through Vermont Energy Education Programs (VEEP) for attending this workshop.

Audience: Middle and High school science teachers
Facilitators: Brian Betournay, program manager for the New Hampshire Energy Education Project, and VEEP staff
