Inspiring Conversations in Education (ICE) Conference

Young Student Center - Rhodes Hall
Saturday, · -

Description: The 6th Annual Inspiring Conversations in Education (ICE) Conference will be hosted on March 3, 2018 by the International Honor Society in Education, Kappa Delta Pi’s Epsilon Pi Chapter at Keene State College.

This is a day conference where Keene State Alumni who have graduated and are now in the field of education come back to present informational sessions about various topics in education. The Keene State College alumni are the backbone of this conference.

By incorporating Keene State College alumni into our conference it has allowed for us to provide a concrete example of how the Keene State College motto “Enter to learn, go forth to serve” is being used by our graduates on an everyday basis. The alumni who present at our conference are out in different parts of our country impacting the lives of young children everyday.

This conference allows for the Keene State College students and faculty to live out Keene State’s motto and to change the world not only at a local level, but at an international level as well. The purpose of the ICE conference is for current educators and the pre-professionals at Keene State College to engage in conversations about the field of education.

This conference is intended to provide current educators and students with the skills that they need in order to be successful in their field. With the skills that our conference participants gain, they will be able to greater impact the communities that they teach in and the world. The attendees of this conference attend sessions that equip them with skills that they then bring back to their classrooms and school communities.

This conference is designed to meet the needs of all educators from early childhood through grade 12. Before and after the individual sessions that take place at the conference there are several opportunities for the conference attendants to engage in conversation with educators from all different levels.

This allows for the current educators and pre-professionals to get a general overview of what being involved with education in early childhood through grade 12 entails.

This is just one of the countless examples of how the conference brings current professionals and rising professionals together to understand the greater picture of education. This conference encourages educators to grow and have a greater understanding. With this greater understanding, our current and future educators will have the skills that they will need to make a difference in their professional life.

The ICE Conference has not only impacted its attendees, but it has been recognized by Kappa Delta Pi International. In 2013, Kappa Delta Pi International recognized the Epsilon Pi Chapter’s ICE Conference with a Professional Development Award. This event that has become well known throughout the State and the nation.
