Breaking the Cycle of Adverse Childhood Events: a panel discussion and viewing of the film "Paper Tigers"
Please join us for a screening of the award winning documentary "Paper Tigers" followed by a panel discussion. The film highlights the challenges faced by teens who experienced early adverse childhood events, which are all too common in our society and associated with poor health outcomes. Adverse childhood experiences have quickly become regarded as a major threat to public health. The high school in the award winning documentary offers an approach to help these students heal… and to hopefully break the cycle of poverty, violence, addiction etc. that are so often associated with early childhood adverse experiences.
In addition to the film, we will welcome speakers from the NH Department of Education and the NH Children’s trust who will talk more about the public health risks associated with adverse childhood experiences, as well as work that is being done in NH to break the vicious cycle.
To request accommodations for a disability, please contact the coordinator at least two weeks prior to the event.
