Transgender Day of Visibility

Rhodes Hall - S203
Friday, · -

In honor of Transgender Day of Visibility, Green Mountain Crossroads (Brattleboro, VT) and the Office of Multicultural Student Support at Keene State College will be hosting a letter writing event to support transgender people who are currently being held in solitary confinement. We will have a list of incarcerated transgender folks who are looking for pen pals. Materials will be provided.

We will show and discuss the 2006 documentary 'Cruel & Unusual' which explores trans women's experiences in the prison system. And we'll share more information about other regular events and gatherings of and for trans folks in our area.

International Transgender Day of Visibility is an annual holiday occurring on March 31st dedicated to celebrating transgender and gender non-conforming people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender and GNC people worldwide.
