Percussion Ensemble

Redfern Arts Center - Alumni Recital Hall
Thursday, · -
All types of percussion instruments are played during the concert.

Let the Keene State College Percussion Ensemble take you on a journey of landscape through percussive sound. From the skyline of Boston to the frozen tundra of Alaska to a black hole at the edge of space and time, evocative and dynamic percussion writing is the focus of this semester’s concert. The ensemble under the direction of Amy Garapic and Christopher Swist will run a table of textures with everything from raw primal drumming to tender/haunting bowed vibraphone. These “soundscapes” are written by: David Mancini, Pat Metheny, Elliot Cole, John Luther Adams, faculty composer Dr. Heather Gilligan, and student composer Adam Rhan.
