Panel Discussion: Documentary Filmmaking at Florentine Films

Thorne Sagendorph Gallery
Thursday, · -

Documentary films have the power to educate, inform, and call people to action.

We are fortunate at Keene State to have internationally renowned documentary filmmaker Ken Burns’ company, Florentine Films, in nearby Walpole, New Hampshire— less than 20 miles north of Keene. Since the late 1980’s, Keene State and Florentine have had a close relationship, with nearly 70 students having interned at Florentine and working at Florentine (about 25% of the current staff) and elsewhere in the film business.

On Thursday, November 21 at 6 pm at Keene State’s Thorne Sagendorph Art Gallery, a panel of KSC alums who interned at Florentine will talk about their internship experience and what they are doing now. If you are drawn to documentary filmmaking as a possible career, this is a great chance to learn about how learn more about the industry. It is also a chance to see the photo exhibit at the Thorne from the recently released Florentine documentary, Country Music.

This Event was brought to you by the Office of the Director of Corporate Partnerships and Strategic Initiatives, the Thorne Sagendorph Art Gallery, and by the School of Arts, Education, and Humanities.
