Celebrating KSC’s Newest Grads on May 11
Keene State is counting down to the day when we honor our most recent graduates during Commencement. This year the ceremony will be held on May 11, at 1 p.m. on Fiske Quad. In addition to celebrating graduates, the College will bestow an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degree, an Honorary Doctor of Science Degree, and the Granite State Award.
Dr. Robert Putnam and Business Leader Leonard Chaloux will Receive Keene State Honorary Degrees.
Dr. Robert Putnam will receive the Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters for his contributions to the study, exploration, and understanding of the social sciences, specifically in the areas of political science and community.
Dr. Putnam is an internationally renowned writer, scholar, and lecturer dedicated to investigating these central contributions to our society. Through his work, he has created a greater understanding of the social sciences in our country and around the world.
Dr. Putnam has written 15 books that have been translated into 20 languages.
Keene State will also honor Leonard Chaloux with the Honorary Doctor of Science for his contributions to the field of precision manufacturing systems and processes.
Mr. Chaloux is recognized for his leadership, dedication to workforce development, technical expertise, and business acumen. He earned his associate’s degree in manufacturing process technologies at Keene State College in 1974 and is the co-founder of Moore Nanotechnology Systems. For more than 20 years, Mr. Chaloux was president of the company, and today, he is president emeritus and co-founder.
Historical Society of Cheshire County to Receive the Granite State Award
The Historical Society of Cheshire County will receive this year’s Granite State Award. A nonprofit organization deeply rooted in, and supported by, the community, the Society is an important part of the fabric of Cheshire County that keeps us connected with our history as we look to the future. The Society is guided by its mission to collect, preserve, and communicate the history of Cheshire County.
