The Addictions Minor offers addiction courses in preparation for further studies in the field as well as preparation for licensure or certification in some states. The program provides students with a theoretical understanding of substance use disorders and related addictive disorders, and an introduction to counseling, treatment, or prevention. The curriculum emphasizes research, theory, and practice regarding the continuum of care in addictions.

20 credits minimum

PH 200 Alcohol and Other Drugs: The Fundamentals
PH 380 Addictions: Theory, Practice and Research
PH 382 Addiction Counseling
PH 386 Assessment to Treatment in Addictions
