Common Ground Multicultural Club
The Common Ground Multicultural Club provides a forum for students interested in topics related to diversity and multiculturalism to get together, provide support to one another, and organize social and educational events.
One of Common Ground’s main goals is to support underrepresented students (LGBTQ students, students with disabilities, people of color, first generation students, immigrants, and low socioeconomic status students) and find common ground with all people. To achieve this goal we collaborate with the Office and Diversity and Multiculturalism, the Office of Multicultural Student Support, Student Affairs, and other clubs and departments on campus.
Past events and collaborations include:
- Poetry Slam Night
- Flag Raising Ceremony
- Holi—Welcoming of Spring Celebration
- Nicaragua Dancers
- Monthly Keynote speakers
- Ethnic Culture Night
If you are looking for a place where you will be welcomed and would like to learn more about who we are and what we do, or if you’re interested in joining our club, stop by anytime! Please note that membership is not restricted to underrepresented populations—we welcome everyone. Feel free to contact any of the E-board members should you have any questions.
Common Ground meets every Monday at 8:30 p.m. in the Mountain View Room (3rd floor of the Student Center).
