Guitar Orchestra & Latin American Ensemble

Please join us on Wednesday, November 8th at 7:30 pm in the Alumni Recital Hall of the Redfern Arts Center for the Guitar Orchestra & Latin American Ensemble performance, directed by Dr. Jose Lezcano. The Latin American Ensemble, “Cotopaxi”, will be starting the concert off with folk-tunes from the Andes. They will be joined by charango virtuoso, Mr. Carlos Boltes, from the acclaimed touring ensemble “Alturas Duo.” The Guitar Orchestra will be performing Variations on a Slovakian folk song by Andrew Forrest, featuring Central European folk-songs and rhythms in a sophisticated contemporary musical language. Also on the program: Renaissance Dances by Claude Gervais, and works by Haydn and the Russian composer Ivan Shekel. Join us for these exciting pieces and many others!
