Academic and Co-Curricular Planning Council

Charge

August 21, 2015

The charge of the integrated Academic and Co-Curricular Planning Council (ACPC) is to lead, oversee, and complete the development of an integrated academic and co-curricular plan, according to the specifications of Objective 1.1 of the College’s new strategic plan: Prepare a comprehensive, integrated academic and co-curricular plan that (1) is guided by College-wide student learning outcomes; (2) incorporates an interdisciplinary general education curriculum that exemplifies and embraces Keene State’s definition of the liberal arts; (3) supports innovative, experiential, and integrated educational opportunities that respond to a spectrum of students’ learning styles; and (4) includes expanded opportunities for international engagement and study, service learning, undergraduate research, and internship.

The ACPC will work closely with other new or existing planning groups that will address certain parallel and intersecting strategic objectives, including: (1) advising, (2) faculty development, (3) enrollment management, and (4) the first year experience. The ACPC and related planning groups will also explore other topics of importance to the strategic plan that may influence or relate to the academic and co-curricular plan, including but not limited to criteria for assigning positions, student leadership development, student conduct and academic integrity. The chairs of these planning groups and the ACPC Co-Chairs will comprise an Executive Planning Group (EPG), to be led by the Provost and Vice President for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, that will work in parallel with the ACPC to implement high-priority objectives of the strategic plan.

ACPC will work in partnership with our planning consultants, Keeling & Associates, LLC, to complete the integrated academic and co-curricular plan. The Co-Chairs of the ACPC will communicate regularly with the EPG and the Strategic Planning Oversight Committee (SPOC). The ACPC will conduct its work in an open, consultative, and transparent fashion, utilizing the strategic planning website and other modes of communication as appropriate. Regular updates to the campus community on the progress, conclusions, and recommendations of the ACPC are expected.

The ACPC will complete its work by the end of January 2016.
