Dr. Stephen Clark

Stephen Clark received his Sc.B. in biology from Brown University, and his Ph.D. in the evolution of behavior from The Rockefeller University. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuroethology and taught in the psychology department of Vassar College for nine years prior to coming to Keene State. His teaching interests include biopsychology, the psychology of learning, and the psychology of prejudice. Dr. Clark has published on auditory perception in birds, evolutionary game theory, the behavioral ecology of reproduction, stereology, and the randomized response method. His current research focuses on prejudice, especially heterosexism and homophobia. His most recent publication, "Gay priests and other bogeymen," [Journal of Homosexuality 51(4):1-13] examines the role of homophobia in the 2002 sex scandal in the Catholic Church. Dr. Clark is a member of the Campus Commission on the Status of Diversity and Multiculturalism, the President's Commission on the Status of Women, and is the founder of the KSC Homophobia Project.
