Dr Ellen Nuffer, Professor of Education, regularly teaches and advises first year students in the foundational courses in her department as well as in the Thinking and Writing program. She also teaches graduate level research and school law courses. She has her doctoral degree from Pennsylvania State University in school psychology and worked as a licensed psychologist and school psychologist in preschools, elementary, middle and high schools in Pennsylvania and Vermont before coming to teach at KSC. She also holds certification as an elementary school teacher. Dr Nuffer is interested in faculty development and assessment, both in higher education as well as in the schools, and regularly consults and writes on these issues. She has served her Department as Chair on several occasions and her profession in APA governance. Her passion is the creation of educational environments that allow students to learn to their highest potentials and for her faculty colleagues to work at their best.
