School-College Collaboration

Keene State College (KSC) Educator Preparation Programs have a long history of collaboration with schools in the Southwest region of New Hampshire. We value each unique relationship that we build with P-12 schools, and realize that the diversity of school experiences in which our candidates engage is essential for their development.

Mutually beneficial school partnerships can have an enormous impact on the development of high quality and effective teachers as well as positively affect P-12 learners. KSC continuously review and update our School Partnership Framework that highlights how we value the work with do with our P-12 schools.

Our Educator Preparation Advisory Committee that consists of school/community partners, KSC faculty, and KSC students meet several times a year creating a shared responsibility space that provides an opportunity to collaborate and to discuss for the purpose continual improvement of our educator preparation programs and ways that we can impact on B-12 student learning and development. We continue to refine and expand our connections with school districts so that educator preparation is valued as a “shared responsibility” that is mutually beneficial to all involved in the process of preparing educators (CAEP 2020).

We maintain a School Placement List to capture and to appreciate all the P-12 schools our students get to engage with during their time at KSC.

Southwest Center for Education Support offers workshops, webinars, and customized courses/consulting and it supports regional meetings for principals and student service leaders.
