Examines the use of drugs, including legal and illegal drugs,from a sociological perspective. Cross-cultural and historicalpatterns of use are discussed and explained. Particular attentionis given to drug use within the context of various socialinstitutions and any resulting domestic and internationalconflict (i.e. drug wars). Prerequisite: ISSOC125 OR CJS 240 andjunior standing.
