Thinking and Writing: Environm

This course examines current environmental issues from theperspective of activism and media literacy. What are the mostcritical environmental issues we face today? What are the mosteffective strategies to address these problems? How can we gatherthe most accurate information about these issues, and thencommunicate what we've learned in a way that will move others totake action? We will explore these questions through books, filmsand audio. Students will learn to critically evaluate mediarepresentations of environmental problems, as well as strategiesfor researching and writing about a topic of their choice.Attention will be given to the human element in all environmentalissues as well as the nature of social change.
