Outdoor Rec Leadership

This interdisciplinary course will explore outdoor recreational leadership qualities, styles, and group dynamics from multiple perspectives (physical education/communication). Additional focus is placed on experiential learning and examinations of selected program activities. Students develop, lead, and evaluate activities based on varying participant requirements, and earn a Leave No Trace certification. Prerequisites: 24 credits in ISP, including ITW 101 and QL. Summer.

Comments: IIHP-311 is a field-based course off site at Northern Outdoorslocated in The Forks, Maine. This 7-day immersion class will runfrom January 7-13, 2018. Students will carpool to the resort andparticipate in activities such as ropes course, winter hiking,x-country skiing, snowshoeing, team building, map & compass, andleadership skills. Course fee: $1029.00 PLUS TUITION (covers thecost of lodging, meals, equipment, activities, and Leave NoTrace certification).
