Nutritional Biochemistry

An in-depth analysis of digestion, absorption, transport and cellular metabolism of macronutrients while emphasizing certain micronutrients. Disorders of energy metabolism are addressed such as obesity, diabetes and malnutrition. The course integrates aspects of scientific method principles and its application to the field of nutrition. Prerequisites: BIO 332, CHEM 220, or CHEM 221. Fall.
