Consumerism and Identity

This section of Senior Project will analyze how organizations andindividuals attempt to market, brand, and produce desire for theproducts and services they ask us to buy and consume.Specifically, we will analyze the processes of social andindividual identity construction and the effects these identitieshave on the types of products we desire, buy, and consume.Students will use components of rhetorical criticism andempirical research methods (interviews, observations, or surveys)to produce undergraduate research papers or service-learningprojects.
