Student Handbook

Effective with this issue, the Keene State College Student Handbook is a hard copy of the Official Student Handbook as found on the Keene State College web site. Students are expected to refer to the copy on the web site for any updates and changes. Paper copies are not issued to all students, but copies are available for students and non-students who wish to receive one. As Keene State becomes increasingly a web-based institution, the College will use electronic means to inform students, and most specifically use e-mail as a primary means of contact. All students are issued an e-mail account through Keene State College, and the College expects these accounts to be activated and used. Students are responsible for keeping themselves up-to-date regarding e-mail communications. Notification by e-mail will be considered official contact.

This handbook is published by Keene State College and is intended to be the official statement on its rules and regulations. All of the items contained herein are in effect at the date of publication. All rules, regulations, and policies of Keene State College are subject to change through the appropriate departments, divisions, offices, and legislative bodies empowered by the individual constitutencies, the President of Keene State College, and the Board of Trustees of the University System of New Hampshire. Any change in the items contained herein will be published in the appropriate campus media or posted on campus. All students are responsible for acquainting themselves with the contents of this publication.

Each of the book's three sections is coded with a shade of gray to reflect the Statement of Student Rights and Responsibilities. The first section, keyed to light gray, emphasizes certain rights, including services and resources available to students. The third section, with dark gray, explains student responsibilities, including policies under which students are held accountable. Chapters in the middle section, indicated by two shades of gray, emphasize areas of campus life relevant to both rights and responsibilities.
