The Best of the Web
There are an overwhelming number and range of available web sites about writing, so we've taken
the liberty to cull a few of the very best.
Nuts and Bolts, Michael Harvey, Washington
College
This is a wonderful, user-friendly writing guide designed to help students with every aspect of
writing from grammar to research formats. Very easy to navigate, clear, concise straight-forward
answers to most every question and issue.
The
Mason Library's Resource page contains a comprehensive group of web sites that all deal
with how to use online citations in APA, MLA, and Chicago formats.
Purdue University's
Online Writing Lab
Usually at the top of most lists, go directly to Purdue's own resource list and browse until you've
found what you want. You'll find an abundance of articles and very useful information about WID
(Writing in the Disciplines) and WAC (Writing Across the Curriculum) that will definitely help you
in creating and delivering writing projects.
Diana Hacker's A
Writer's Reference
For most students at KSC, A Writer's Reference is standard fare in English Composition. It provides
a very solid review of grammar, usage, includes ESL issues, and a fairly thorough review of citation
practice complete with examples of most styles.
