Setting Up HomeSite or ColdFusion Studio

Most software applications have a section where you can define the Settings you want to use. HomeSite and ColdFusion Studio Settings are located in the Options menu under "Settings".

  1. Open your program.
  2. Click the Options menu and select "Settings". The following screen should appear.
  3. Settings Window

  4. Almost everything is set correctly by default, but there are a few things you should change, and a few thing you may change if you want. You can navigate through each screen by clicking the corresponding word in the left bar.
  5. Check the following items to be sure they are set correctly:
General Tab - needs no changes from the default settings
Markup Languages Tab - Check "Use &alt;em> in place of <i>
Markup Languages Tab - Check "Use &alt;strong> in place of <b>
Browse Tab - Check Use Microsoft Internet Explorer
  6. You may enable or disable (check or uncheck) the following features in the Editor Tab. These functions are meant to assist you by completing the tags as you type them, offering assistance with the attributes of certain tags, and by automatically including the ending tag when you write the beginning tag. To me these features are distracting, but they can be helpful if you need help remembering tags.
      Auto Completion
      Tag Insight
      Function Insight
      Tag Completion
