We suggest that all Page Editors purchase HomeSite 5.5, however if your department cannot afford to upgrade at this time, you can simply update to HomeSite+ free of charge.

Before updating your software, find out which version of HomeSite you are running. If you are running 4.0 you will need to purchase the latest version of HomeSite. If you are running 4.5, 4.5a, or 4.5.1 you can update to 5.0 by completing the steps below.

1. Visit http://www.macromedia.com/software/homesite/download/update/
2. Click 'HomeSite + Updater'
3. Save the file to your Desktop
4. Once the file has finished downloading, double-click the icon on your desktop to begin installing the update
5. Click the 'Next' button until you come to the Name/Serial Number screen and insert your name and serial number from version 4.5.1 The serial number can be found on the CD or box of your old HomeSite software.
6. When the installer is done, restart your computer. The HomeSite program should be in the same place in your programs folder. When you open it for the first time, make sure the splash screen shows version HomeSite+
