Adding an RDS Server in ColdFusion Studio

Remote Development Server (RDS) allows you to access datasources on a remote server for use in developing ColdFusion web applications. Only application developers using ColdFusion Studio will have access to this feature on the KSC server.

  1. Open ColdFusion Studio
  2. In the upper-left drop-down menu choose Macromedia FTP & RDS. Once you have selected this option, Macromedia FTP & RDS should also appear in the middle-left window.
  3. Right-click Macromedia FTP & RDS in the middle-left window and select "Add RDS Server."
  4. Complete the empty fields as follows:
    • Description: www.keene.edu
      Host Name: www.keene.edu
Username: (your network username, e.g. jsmith)
Password: (your network password, e.g. bologna45)

  5. Click OK. An RDS server icon and name will appear under Macromedia FTP & RDS.
  6. One use of the RDS mapping is to access datasources remotely using the Datasource Tab at the bottom of your Resource Windows on the left-hand side of the ColdFusion Studio Editor.
  7. For assistance e-mailwebmaster@keene.edu or call 603-358-2101.
