Adding an FTP Server in HomeSite or ColdFusion Studio
In order to edit your KSC web pages, you must establish a connection with the web server. You
should have your web username and password handy before trying to add an FTP server. FTP (File
Transfer Protocol) is a means of sending files from your computer to the server and from the server
to your computer.
- Open HomeSite
- In the upper-left drop-down menu choose
.
Once you have selected this option, Macromedia FTP & RDS should also appear in the middle-left
window.
- Right-click Macromedia FTP & RDS in the middle-left window and select "Add FTP
Server."
- Complete the empty fields as follows:
Description: www.keene.edu
Host Name: www.keene.edu
Initial directory: (leave blank or enter: yourfoldername e.g, purchasing )
Username: (your username, e.g. jsmith)
Password: (your web password, e.g. pe2krx*9)
Root URL: http://www.keene.edu
- Click OK. An ftp server icon and name will appear under Macromedia FTP & RDS.

- Click the
sign
to see your subfolders.
- Click the
icon to see the files in your folder.
- Click OK.
