Introduction Page Editors Each page editor is responsible for purchasing a copy of Macromedia HomeSite. College Relations (CRO) will assist page editors with installation, configuration, and software issues whenever possible. In lieu of support by College Relations, departments can seek help from Macromedia's web site at www.macromedia.com. All official KSC web pages should be written and edited with HomeSite. Page editors are encouraged to attend training sessions and user groups. Page editor training will include extensive HTML training, as well as an orientation to the KSC Management Plan, Web Policy, Web Style Guide, and HomeSite software. Contact the webmaster to sign up for a training session. The webmaster will provide additional support for page editors on request. In addition to page editors, departments that update content via web applications may need to appoint data editors, staff members responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date data sources used in online web applications. In some cases the same person will server as page editor and data editor. Data editors should attend a training session for each new web application they are responsible for. Page editors are given individual user accounts on the web server. Each user is assigned an account name and password that controls access to appropriate content files. Users may not share their password and must take precautions to keep their password from being misused. In the event that a password is lost or compromised, please contact the webmaster immediately. Page editors and data editors must act in accordance with all College policies and procedures including the Computer & Network Use Policy (www.keene.edu/policy/cnup.cfm), the Web Policy (www.keene.edu/web/policy.cfm), and the Web Style Guide (www.keene.edu/web/styleguide.cfm).Questions For questions regarding the Web Policy please contact Susan peery, the chair of the Web Strategy Team, at speery@keene.edu or 603-358-2122.
