"House of Shadows" Fannie Hillsmith was born in Boston, Mass., and attended the School of the Boston Museum of Fine Arts under Burns and Guthrie. Of particular delight in her paintings is their intimacy and her affinity for synthetic cubism. Her paintings are in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, Boston Museum of Fine Art, and Currier Gallery of Art.
