Migrations: New Directions in Native American Art

The Migrations project, partially funded by grants from The Andy Warhol Foundation for the Visual Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts, was developed to identify and showcase emerging Native American artists who are working with a contemporary vocabulary.

Artists use water as inspiration and metaphor in a variety of innovative media and also address the issue of the shrinking global availability of clean water.
This exhibit about the importance of water and water conservation will be the focus of the Friends of the Thorne’s annual Education Program for area school children, scheduled for Oct. 19-30, 2009.

A small selection of the 150 Warhol original Polaroids and gelatin silver prints given to the gallery by the Andy Warhol Photographic Legacy Program and several prints which are part of a recent donation to the college by Robert P. - Gail E. Sauter from Kittery, Maine, a master pastelist and a Copley artist
- Bert Yarborough from Hartford, Vermont, contemporary artist and an associate professor of art at Colby-Sawyer College

A sampling of the 56 works of fine art recently donated to Keene State College by Robert P. Hubbard of Walpole, N.H. The collection includes paintings, drawings, prints, and sculpture by such artists as Elaine de Kooning, Albert Hirschfeld, William Hogarth, Francisco de Goya, N.C. Wyeth, and others.
Sea of Birds

An interdisciplinary storytelling performance using history, memory, and the power of the imagination by White Box Theater.
The public is invited to view the installation March 9 & 10 and attend three performances March 12 at 6, 7:30 and 8:30 p.m.
