    This exhibit showcases the work of Caldecott Award winner Leonard Weisgard and other artists who illustrate children's books from the Keene State College Children's Literature Festival Gallery Collection and the Thorne's permanent collection.


    Emerging Art:
    The Annual Keene State College Art Students Exhibition

    The KSC Art Departments presents works by 19 graduating art majors. One gallery features artwork by seven bachelor of fine arts students graduating in May. Twelve other students expecting to receive bachelor of arts degrees have their artwork featured in the second gallery along with other students' works.

    The paintings, drawings, prints, sculptures, and ceramics were selected by art department faculty from work students completed in all levels of art classes throughout the academic year.

    April 18, 2008;
    5:30-7:30 p.m.

    In conjunction with "Emerging Art," the Art Department sponsors a Graphic Design Senior Portfolio Review on the same day as the exhibit's opening reception, Friday, April 18, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. in the Media Arts Center.

    An exhibit of works in a variety of media by Keene State College studio art and graphic design faculty members features works by retiring professors Samuel Azzaro and Henry Freedman, who both taught more than three decades at KSC. Other faculty showing recent works are Rachelle Beaudoin, Rosemarie Bernardi, Richard Carlson, Dan Carr, William Cass, Mary Kendra Crawford, Karen Dolmanisth, Marsha Hewitt, Robert Kostick, Ann Laroche, Stephanie Nichols, Walter Nicolai, Yuan Pan, Christa Parravani, Lynn Richardson, John Roberts, Katharina Rooney, Peter Roos, and Craig Stockwell.

    Lecture: "An Art Historian's Circus," Monday, February 11, 7 p.m., Thorne Conference Room: Professor Henry Freedman, who is retiring after teaching art history courses for 37 years at Keene State, explains his favorite historic works of art. Sponsored by the KSC Department of Art.
