Teacher Education and Graduate Studies (TEGS)

The Teacher Education and Graduate Studies Office, or TEGS, is the administrative office that is the liaison between the state certification requirements and the College's undergraduate and advanced studies teacher education programs.

The TEGS Office works closely with the Education, Special Education, and Early Childhood (ESEC) faculty as well as the Secondary and K-12 programs faculty to help ensure a successful teacher preparation experience for each student that meets certification requirements and state, regional, and national accreditation standards.

The TEGS Office staff is responsible for:

  • Providing information and material, about the admission to Teacher Education standards and process
  • Admission to the Teacher Education Program
  • Maintaining individual files for students who have been admitted to Teacher Education
  • Admission to Student Teaching
  • Overseeing Student Teaching placements
  • Monitoring standards at each stage of the certification process
  • Coordinating the Post-Baccalaureate and Graduate Studies programs offered at Keene State College
  • Forwarding certification applications to appropriate State Agencies once a teacher education program have successfully been completed

Located on the first floor of Rhodes Hall (Room S111), the TEGS Office is home to a number of staff dedicated to supporting students, faculty and cooperating professionals in the area of teacher education.
