Where are we now?
- Heat Plant upgrade to combined heat and power (co-gen) plant. Completed in May 2009
- ARRA funds used to upgrade lighting in Gym from HID's to fluorescent
- ARRA funds used to replace HID lighting with LED lights in Winchester St. parking lot
- Ultraviolet(UV)disinfectiion system in pool, replacing chlorine based system
- Energy coordinator position established
- Conversion to energy efficient front load washers and dryers in all residence halls
- Greenhouse Gas (GHG)Inventory completed for 2007 and 2009
- Baseline of energy use established
- Energy metering system program begun
- Replacement of inefficient light fixtures and bulbs
- Installation of energy efficient lighting in major renovations and new buildings
- Emergency lights replaced in all buildings from 40-watt incandescent bulbs to 4-watt LEDs
- VendingMisers installed on all older vending machines. New vending machines are all Energy Star compliant

- Fully metered electric and steam use on campus
- Increased use of recycled or recycled content materials
- Increase purchases of sustainable and recycled content goods and services
How do we get there?
- Collaboration of Council, Facilities Planning Council and energy coordinator on Energy Master Plan
- Increased collaboration with IT, Plumbing Shop, Electrical Shop on metering equipment, maintenance and management
- Implementation of Climate Action Plan
- Development of GHG inventory protocols to facilitate information gathering
- Implementation of ASHRAE toolkit or Energy Star benchmarking values for energy saving
calculations
- More extensive metering for an accurate picture of our current energy use
- Continue work with PSNH on energy saving opportunities
