Dr. Katherine Tirabassi
Dr. Tirabassi is an Associate Professor of English, Coordinator of the Thinking and Writing Program, and teaches composition/literacy theory, creative nonfiction, first-year writing, and professional writing. She has published articles on archival research, composition pedagogy, and writing center theory/practice. Dr. Katherine E. Tirabassi earned her PhD at the University of New Hampshire, where her she wrote her dissertation, "Revisiting the 'Current-Traditional Era': Innovations in Writing Instruction at the University of New Hampshire, 1940-1949, " which received the 2008 College Composition and Communication Conference James Berlin Memorial Outstanding Dissertation Award. Her Spring 2014 sabbatical will allow her to develop her dissertation into a book. She has also recently published a chapter on sixteenth-century French writer and editor Marie de Gournay, in the edited collection Rhetoric in the Rest of the West, published by Cambridge Scholars Publishing, in 2010.
