Karen is the director of the dietetic internship at Keene State College Dietetic Internship, a program with an emphasis on community nutrition education and wellness. She has worked at Keene State since 1999, initially as a health educator and then joining the internship staff, and became director in 2009. The New Hampshire Dietetic Association awarded her Outstanding Educator of the Year in 2008. From 2007 to 2009, Karen worked with the UNH Cooperative Extension as an Educational Program Coordinator for the HEAL-NH website. Among many other community collaborations, she currently serves on the Cheshire County Cooperative Extension Advisory Board, is a founding member of Keene-based Advocates for Healthy Youth, works with the NH Design Team for Food Solutions New England, and is an active Champion for Healthy Monadnock 2020.
Prior to her employment at Keene State, she worked in clinical dietetics, management, cardiac rehab, outpatient counseling, and hospital-based health promotion programming with senior services and marketing.
Karen is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian and member of the Nutrition and Dietetic Educators of Practitioners, the Hunger and Environmental Nutrition practice groups, and the New Hampshire Dietetic Association.
