“My goal,” says Karrie Kalich, “is for students to obtain marketable skills that add value to their future and the communities they serve and a love of learning.” Her favorite teaching moments include working side-by-side with students on community-based health initiatives, and she appreciates Keene State’s small classroom environment, which provides the opportunity to engage students in project-based learning in community settings.

Professional Interests:
My research and community outreach focuses on obesity prevention in young children. Given that children largely develop their dietary habits from birth to age 5, I have targeted early childhood for much of my research.
