Dr. Sara Hottinger
Sara Hottinger is an associate professor in Women's and Gender Studies and is currently serving as the associate dean in the School of Arts and Humanities. She earned her Ph.D. in Feminist Studies from the University of Minnesota and her B.A. in Women's Studies and Mathematics from Beloit College. In addition to the core curriculum in Women's and Gender Studies, she has taught first-year writing and philosophy courses. Dr. Hottinger is an interdisciplinary scholar, whose research interests include feminist epistemology, cultural studies of science, and the history and philosophy of mathematics. Her book Deconstructing Mathematical Subjectivity: Race, Gender, and Our Cultural Understanding of Mathematics is forthcoming from SUNY Press.
