Dr. Sara N. Hottinger
Sara Hottinger is a Professor of Women's and Gender Studies and is currently serving as Associate Dean in the School of Arts and Humanities. She earned her Ph.D. in Feminist Studies from the University of Minnesota and her B.A. in Women's Studies and Mathematics from Beloit College. In addition to the core curriculum in Women's and Gender Studies, she has taught first-year writing and philosophy courses. Dr. Hottinger is an interdisciplinary scholar, whose research interests include feminist epistemology, cultural studies of science, and the history and philosophy of mathematics. She is the author of Inventing the Mathematician: Gender, Race and Our Cultural Understanding of Mathematics, which will be out in March 2016 from SUNY Press.
